¡LAS MEJORES DEL MUNDO!
El 2022 se ha caracterizado por ser uno de los años más competitivos para el club deportivo Revolution, pues recién terminada la competencia mundial más importante de Ultimate Frisbee, en la que varios de nuestros deportistas aportaron su gran talento y experiencia, el mes de Julio llegó con el tan esperado ¡Mundial de clubes! para el que nos preparamos día a día física y mentalmente con el objetivo claro de llevarnos el ORO a nuestro país. Así pues, nuestro equipo conformado por las deportistas más antiguas y reconocidas del club, como por nuevas integrantes que vivieron por primera vez esta competencia, estaba listo para ganar!
Gracias a la gran dirección de nuestro entrenador y a la compenetración del equipo, tuvimos un desempeño impecable durante el torneo, llegando invictas a la final tras ganar nueve encuentros previos frente a equipos de Reino Unido, Canadá, Suiza, Estados Unidos, Japón, entre otros. Por segunda vez, nos encontrabamos en instancias finales y el reto más grande para nosotros llegó.
La gran final contra Fury inició con el marcador 3-0 a favor del equipo Estadounidense, sin embargo, tras nuestras victorias defensivas y errores del contrincante, logramos terminar la primera mitad del partido con dos goles a favor. La segunda mitad, se convirtió en la parte más emocionante del partido para nosotros y sobretodo para los espectadores del encuentro. Defensas, turnovers y emocionantes goles, nos llevaron a jugar el ¡GOL DE ORO! más importante y emocionante de nuestro recorrido como club; jugadas increíbles de las jugadoras de fury y de nuestras jugadoras, como la doble defensa de Mangie, la defensa en salto de Manuela Cardenas, el vuelo de Elizabeth Mosquera buscando atrapar el frisbee, entre otras, llenaron de gritos y emoción a toda la audiencia, hasta que la velocidad en la defensa de Yina Cartagena le permitió interceptar el frisbee y correr a la zona de gol, esperando el pase final de Valeria Cárdenas que nos condecoró como ¡Las mejores del mundo!
Tras la emoción y la alegría del objetivo alcanzado, sabemos que este es un primer paso de las victorias que como equipo queremos alcanzar, siendo la puerta de representación y liderazgo de un país con una gran cantidad de deportistas de ultimate frisbee. THE BEST IN THE WORLD!
2022 has been characterized as one of the most competitive years for Revolution Ultimate Club, since the most important ultimate frisbee competition in the world had just finished, in which several of our athletes contributed their great talent and experience. The month of July with the long-awaited World Ultimate Club Championships! for which we prepare ourselves physically and mentally every day with the clear objective of taking the GOLD to our country. Our team, made up of the oldest and most recognized athletes of the club, as well as new members who experienced this competition for the first time, were ready to win!
Thanks to the great direction of our coach and the rapport of the team, we had an impeccable performance during the tournament, reaching the final undefeated after winning nine previous matches against teams from the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, the United States, Japan, among others. For the second time, we are in the final stages and the biggest challenge for us.
The grand final against Fury started with the score 3-0 in favor of the American team, however, after our defensive victories and opponent errors, we managed to finish the first half of the match with two goals in favor. The second half became the most exciting part of the match for us and especially for the spectators. Defenses, and exciting goals, led us to play the UNIVERSE POINT! most important and exciting part of our journey as a club; incredible plays by the Fury players and our players, such as Mangie’s double defense, Manuela Cardenas’ jump defense, Elizabeth Mosquera’s flight looking to try to catch the frisbee, among others, filled the entire audience with screams and shouts, until the speed of Yina Cartagena’s defense allowed her to intercept the frisbee and run to the end zone, waiting for the final pass from Valeria Cárdenas, that declared us as the Best Team in the world!
After the emotion and joy of the goal achieved, we know that this is the first step in the victories that we want to achieve as a team, representing and leading our country with a large number of ultimate frisbee athletes.
